Every brick is assembled and shipped from the UK.

  • Handling time: orders ship within 1–2 working days

Do I need a specific phone for this to work?

Right now, GetUp is iOS only.

Will this work if I’m a heavy sleeper?

GetUp is literally built for heavy sleepers.

Unlike the Apple alarm volume is fully customisable - so you can't sleep through it.

And because you have to physically get out of bed and go to your brick, it breaks that half-asleep “just 5 more minutes” loop. You can also:

  • Put the brick somewhere that forces more movement (like outside your bedroom or by the bathroom sink).
  • Use your usual system of backup alarms alongside GetUp if you want a belt-and-braces setup.

It’s not magic, but it does add the friction you’ve been missing.
What stops me just turning my phone off or deleting the app?

Technically, nothing can stop you if you’re truly determined to sabotage yourself.

GetUp works by changing the default: instead of a giant snooze button in your hand, you now have a system that makes getting up the easiest option:

  • Your alarm won’t stop until you scan your brick.
  • Your brick is away from your bed, so lying there scrolling becomes the “harder” choice.
  • You’ve made a small commitment to future-you when you set the alarm and placed the brick.

If you really go as far as powering your phone off / deleting the app, that’s no longer an alarm problem – that’s a “you vs you” problem. We’re here to help you win that battle, not dodge it.
Where should I put the brick?

Short answer: far enough away that you have to properly get up.

Great spots:

  • On your bedroom door or just outside your room
  • By your bathroom sink or mirror
  • In the kitchen next to your kettle / coffee machine
  • On your desk where you plan to start your day
