what makes this the Founders edition?

The Founders Edition is the very first batch of GetUp – the first 100 bricks to ever exist!

Right now it’s just me: I 3D-print each brick, fit the NFC and magnet, test it with the app, then pack it in the custom box and send it out from the UK. Every one of these has been through my hands before it gets to yours.

Because it’s early, you get a launch price of £18.99 (RRP £29.99) in return for honest feedback on how GetUp fits into your mornings – what works, what’s annoying, what you’d change. That feedback will shape the app, the hardware and the next versions of the product.

Shipping and returns

We’re a small operation, so every GetUp brick is prepared with a lot of care.

  • Handling time: orders ship within2–4 working days

  • UK delivery: usually 1-2 working days after dispatch (Royal Mail 48)

  • You’ll get an email as soon as your brick ships, and tracking details if they’re available.

I want GetUp to genuinely help you wake up better – not become another gadget in a drawer.

  • If you use GetUp for 30 days and it doesn’t help your mornings, email me and I’ll refund you.

  • If your brick arrives damaged or there’s a problem with the NFC or magnet, I’ll repair or replace it at no cost to you.

Create your alarm in the GetUp app and link your brick.

Place your brick

Stick the brick on a wall, wardrobe, bathroom door – anywhere that forces you to actually get up and move.

Walk & scan to stop it

When it rings, it won’t stop until you walk over and tap your phone on the brick. No easy snooze, no staying in bed.
Do I need a specific phone for this to work?

Right now, GetUp is iOS only.

  • Works with iPhone models that support NFC (iPhone 8 or newer)
  • Requires iOS 16+

Will this work if I’m a heavy sleeper?

GetUp is literally built for heavy sleepers.

Because you have to physically get out of bed and go to your brick, it breaks that half-asleep “just 5 more minutes” loop. You can also:

  • Put the brick somewhere that forces more movement (like outside your bedroom or by the bathroom sink).
  • Use your usual system of backup alarms alongside GetUp if you want a belt-and-braces setup.

It’s not magic, but it does add the friction you’ve been missing.
What stops me just turning my phone off or deleting the app?

Technically, nothing can stop you if you’re truly determined to sabotage yourself.

GetUp works by changing the default: instead of a giant snooze button in your hand, you now have a system that makes getting up the easiest option:

  • Your alarm won’t stop until you scan your brick.
  • Your brick is away from your bed, so lying there scrolling becomes the “harder” choice.
  • You’ve made a small commitment to future-you when you set the alarm and placed the brick.

If you really go as far as powering your phone off / deleting the app, that’s no longer an alarm problem – that’s a “you vs you” problem. We’re here to help you win that battle, not dodge it.
Where should I put the brick?

Short answer: far enough away that you have to properly get up.

Great spots:

  • On your bedroom door or just outside your room
  • By your bathroom sink or mirror
  • In the kitchen next to your kettle / coffee machine
  • On your desk where you plan to start your day
